Now the holiday season is in already, I make Gift Guides. Started off with Babies,Kids, Teens Gift Guides.

I use Pinterest boards to showcase the gift guides because it seems the easiest way to start. Follow my boards on Pinterest as I’ll add more products and will edit them to have polished version of each guide shortly.

Search Products on Color part 2

search on color store feature

Going back to my previous post on Color Search, where I described how to add Shop by color feature to your store. Doesn’t really matter if it is Cafepress store you’d like to add this extra Search function or to your blog…

So how practically you can add Search on color feature to your website?

Very simple!

    1. Make search on colors you want to suggest to your customers on your website and save all links which lead to this products on a certain color.
    2. Add this code snippet in your HTML ( in place you want this color chart to appear:
<pre><div style="text-align:center;">
<a style="text-decoration:none;background:#B30302;display: block;float:left;width:35px;height:35px;margin-right:3px;" href="http://www.cafepress.com/technotextnl/s_red"></a>
<a style="text-decoration:none;background:black;display: block;float:left;width:35px;height:35px;margin-right:3px;" href="http://www.cafepress.com/technotextnl/s_black"></a>
<a style="text-decoration:none;background:grey;display: block;float:left;width:35px;height:35px;margin-right:3px;" href="http://www.cafepress.com/technotextnl/s_grey"></a>
<a style="text-decoration:none;background:#ABF0D1;display: block;float:left;width:35px;height:35px;margin-right:3px;" href="http://www.cafepress.com/technotextnl/s_mint"></a>
<a style="text-decoration:none;background:#FFF4D6;display: block;float:left;width:35px;height:35px;margin-right:3px;" href="http://www.cafepress.com/technotextnl/s_cream"></a>
<a style="text-decoration:none;background:#FCCED0;display: block;float:left;width:35px;height:35px;margin-right:3px;" href="http://www.cafepress.com/technotextnl/s_pink"></a>
<a style="text-decoration:none;background:#8A0034;display: block;float:left;width:35px;height:35px;margin-right:3px;" href="http://www.cafepress.com/technotextnl/s_cranberry"></a>
</div>
 <div class="clear">&nbsp;</div></pre>

3. Don’t forget to replace my search on color links to yours and remove  pre tags! Save your changes.
The color chat will appear:

shop-by-color

You can see live example of Search on color in my Cafepress Store

This simple HTML snippet is actually a list of links, displayed as the blocks of color. Don’t forget to replace my search on color links to yours!

Of course you can style this snippet further, laying color boxes in pairs, making color boxes smaller, the options are endless, just make some changes in this HTML snippet.

Mint Home Decor

I must confess: some colors I like some colors more than others which is not that unusual. One of those colors I always consider as remarkable is mint color. Though in real life I have nothing in this color in interiors or in fashion, I like how mint color things look on-screen.

So over the time I created a lots of mint color designs for printed products which  I start to collect in my new Pinterest board: Mint Home Decor, for mint color home accessories, mint color patterns, everything mint. Here is an example on how you can add mint color accessories for your interior:

Mint Living Room

And here is my new  Pinterest Board: Mint Home decor with mint color home accessories:

All pins on this board are links to the products you can actually buy right away!

For example, this mint monogrammed patterned shower curtain is available on Cafepress for $49.95 :

The other thing I like lately – is a Pinterest integration to WordPress – just paste the link to your Pink or board in the post and it comes out as the Pin or Board image!

Back to my Pinterest Mint Home Decor board: I will “beautify” it with the better looking pins and arrange Pins in the order I like but for now I’m glad I’ve found a stable place to display my printed products in order I like. And hopefully with more exposure than in any other place. But this last statement is needed  to be confirmed, of course.

Using Canva For Pinterest Pins

Continuing to improve my Pinterest experiences I’ve decided to look around on how can I make my pins look smarter than they are especially if I pin my own printed products. Presentation is a key. ( Where did I saw the phrase about that content is a king and  the look is a queen?)

I must say I’m impress by Canva. It  offers a lots of templates of any kind in sizes, graphics, style and designer touches. You can master the same in Photoshop but it will take a lot more of your time. So  I did use Canva  to create a better pin for my Personalized Kids Gifts board on Pinterest:

There are a lot of templates, fonts, graphics available on Canva, so you just pick what fit your brand and in a few minutes your beautiful pin is ready to be published. I’m afraid only that I forget about anything else beautifying my pins for hours…

Today I got an email from Canva team with exciting news – they put up new Canva Presentations option:

We just hit a pretty cool milestone – over 80 million designs have now been created in the last 2.5 years since we launched. Thank you so much for all of your support!

Today, we’re excited to launch Canva Presentations. Now when you design a presentation in Canva you can enter full-screen presentation mode with one-click which will allow you to display your presentation in all its glory.

Click here to check out our brand new presentations and let us know what you think!

Thank you for being a part of the Canva Community.

Needless to say I’m completely overwhelmed!  So lets improve our web appearance with Canva, I’m sure I will do my best to do it!

Pinterest Blues

This year I’ve started my Pinterest profile, set up boards and now fill them with pins daily with my products ( i.e. printed products with my designs), fashion I like,  board Jobs with something to learn on the way.

So now I test  few things I learn on how to publish your profile, board and pin on WordPress.

My profile on Pinterest:

My Fashion Star board:

And finally, one of the latest pins from this board:

So in all it is working, just copy paste any pinterest link to your wp post and it come out as the widget. Very neat. Another applause for WordPress team. ( The first applause of this week  for WordPress was when I set up the photo gallery of my latest designs in 5 mins!)

One quite awkward thing is that because I type the post on iPad, I need to find Pinterest links in browser first and then copy paste them into the post but I’m guessing it is just a small inconvenience.

You can follow my Jobs board on Pinterest if you want to pick some tips on blogging with social media in mind:

I’ve started this Jobs board to find some jobs on the internet but it  seems quite impossible but as always, some pins are quite informative, at least to pick some tips for blogging.

So in all, follow  me on Pinterest, or rather follow my boards on Pinterest, if you are into the same interests as me.
